Dr. Jennifer Leason
Dr. Leason is a talented artist, researcher, and storyteller. My role as her communications consultant has been to encourage, draft, edit, research, collate, curate, manage projects, recommend, and act as a sounding board and enabler to help expand the reach and impact of her work on Indigenous maternal and child health and wellbeing.
Bringing Dr. Leason's foundational theory to life through animation of her artwork (2026).
Sentiers Wakefield Trails

What started as a tribute to a friend and our shared love of trails became an enduring commitment to community, volunteerism, and active citizenship when I joined the Board of Directors of Sentiers Wakefield Trails.
When I offered my communications stills to this volunteer-led organization, I hadn't mentioned how long it had been since I picked up a camera or wrote a press release.
After leading large teams, I was left on my own to figure out a new landscape of technology. Although some tools had changed, I discovered that the principles of communications had not.

Funders want to see what results from their support. Community members appreciate the behind the scenes look, while volunteers can re-live fun times. In this case, a short video (2025) for socials fed multiple birds with one seed.
Insights Studio
When one of my besties, Tina Wadham, opened a studio focused on her unique offerings of reiki and coaching, I wanted to tell the whole world about it!
As a beneficiary of her services over the years, I was delighted that more people would get to experience her wisdom and talents.
I recruited another friend who had been a long-time client to make this video sharing the difference reiki insights can make.

Tina Wadham's unique offering of reiki and coaching provides insights unlike what you can find anywhere else. This short testimonial video was shot and edited on my phone (2026).

P3 permaculture
Every time I have the opportunity to hear Graham Calder, owner of P3 Permaculture, talk I get to become more of what his brand promise states - People for the Profit of the Planet.
Eager to remember all the tidbits he shared, I pulled out my phone and recorded him in local workshops. Not one to be greedy in my knowledge hoarding, I shared these with him and he shared them with the world on his socials.
Now we can all become People for the Profit of the Planet!
This quick video shot on my phone has become one of Graham's most popular videos on YouTube (2025).

personal projects
One of the best parts of resigning from corporate life has been more time to create and experiment.
I've been playing with different mediums and art forms. Sometimes it's about seeing how I might like to express myself, and other times it's a way of creating more of what I want to see in the world.
Way back in 2014 I spoke at Carleton University Art Gallery's speaker series called "Double Major" about using open source methods as a governance innovation. Seems we need that transparency and efficiency now more than ever but this way of working has fallen out of fashion.
